Past Meeting Notes

Highlight your technical skills on your resume. For example, a listing in a separate column or check out this article.
Run your resume through a screen reader to make sure it recognizes the skills.
Include a Professional Profile on your resume, a short paragraph describing what skills you bring to the job.
Create LinkedIn and GitHub profiles. Include links in your resume.
Post some of your own projects in GitHub.
Consider creating a web presence as a portfolio. (Example 1, Example 2)

Network using LinkedIn, Handshake, Connect Gettysburg, and the Tableau Interactive Dashboard (https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/gettysburgviz/viz/OneYearOutcomesDashboard04182022/Combined ).
Don’t browse LinkedIn in private mode. It is ok that people know you are looking at their profile.
Always add a note when making a LinkedIn connection. “Hello, I’m ______. I am a student at Gettysburg College, and I would like to learn more about what you do at ________.”
Vary your search locations: company web sites, job sites, LinkedIn etc.

“Tell me about yourself” and “Why are you interested in this position?” are the same question. Your answer should include:

Apply for jobs for which you fit 70% or more of the requirements.
Glassdoor has reviews, actual interview questions, and salary data. Be careful though, reviews may be made by particularly happy or angry users.
Be prepared with ballpark salary data for the job and location you are interviewing for.
