Attendance Policy
You are expected to attend class regularly and keep up with the reading.
You are expected to read the material BEFORE coming to class on the day
that it is discussed. A comprehensive list of readings is given on the
calendar on the class web page.
Grading Policy
Homeworks and project must be submitted at the beginning of class on the
day they are due. Late homework will not be accepted!
I expect you to read the assigned material before you come to class.
To motivate you in this regard, there will be frequent quizzes and oral
examinations.
For the oral examinations, I will spend the first 5 to 10 minutes
of class asking randomly chosen students to explain the
assigned reading material. You will be allowed to use notes you have
taken, but you cannot reference the source material, nor can you get
help from other students. I recognize that you are taking other
demanding classes so you will be allowed one chance to be "passed over"
on an oral exam.
There will be 2 tests during the semester, their dates are given below.
Make-up tests will only be given under special circumstances.
The date and time final exam are set by the registrar. The instructor does
not have the authority to adjust this. The final exam will
be given to the entire class at this time, no exceptions, no exemptions.

Honor Code and Honor Code Violations
All Gettysburg College students are expected to abide by the Honor Code.
All work in this course is to be done individually
unless the instructor specifically states otherwise.
This includes assigned projects as well as regular class work. The use of the
computer may make it more tempting and easier to pass off another person’s
work as your own. This is UNACCEPTABLE.
The department is always very aggressive about enforcement of the Honor Code.
