This site provides directions to build "The Beast"
(shown to right) as well as advice on sensor configurations.
This design had several advantages over the basic Trusty
design. First its get old constantly repairing your
robot and we wanted a design that was steardy. The beast
manages to be durable enough, it is hard to pull apart,
yet the batteries can be accessed fairly easily by pulling
the entire roll cage off in one piece. As an added bonus
the turing radius manages to be smaller and more consistant
than the basic robot. So, the beast does more than just
look cool, the design actually helped reduce the amount
of work we needed to do in the long run.
